Steven R. Brown, School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration, Nalani Balutski, Matt Militello, and Chris Janson presented a professional development workshop on "Q Methodology: A Participative Evaluation Approach that Quantifies Subjectivity" at the annual meeting of the American Evaluation Association in Washington, D.C., Oct. 16, 2013.
Denise Seachrist, Department of Music, has been invited to join the editorial board of the journal American Music that is published by the University of Illinois Press.

Kirk Mangus and Eva Kwong, Department of Art, presented a talk and had their work, "Works on Paper and in Clay" displayed at an art show the Drury Gallery at Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vt., Oct. 1-27, 2013.
Robert Miltner, Department of English, Kent State University at Stark, conducted a live interview at the "Emory and Henry College Literary Festival" in Emory, Va., on Oct. 3, 2013.

Mary Russell, Ph.D., associate professor of biological sciences at Kent State University at Trumbull, published “Chromodomain Helicase Binding Protein 8 is a novel A-kinase anchoring protein expressed during rat cardiac development.” The piece was co-authored by Maureen O. Shanks, Joseph R. H. Mauban and Meredith Bond (Department of Physiology) and Linda M. Lund (Department of Biochemistry) of the University of Maryland; Sabrina Manni (Department of Medicine) of the University of Padova (Italy) and Cleveland State University’s Meredith Bond (College of Sciences and Health Professions), and published in the journal, PLoS One.
