Professional Activities
Dr. Pamela Evans, College of Architecture and Environmental Design, was recently appointed to represent accredited programs as director of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation’s Board of Directors. Evans is a Fellow of the Interior Design Educator's Council (IDEC) and has also served on the IDEC Board, including one term as president. June 24, 2011.
Patrick Coy, Ph.D., Center for Applied Conflict Management, was awarded the Magnificat Award by Marian University in Wisconsin during the university’s Commencement in May. The Magnificat Award is the highest honor offered by Marian University, and recognizes individuals who have exhibited outstanding service to their community, profession, career and/or their faith community. Coy, an alumnus of Marian University, was honored with the award for helping to build Kent State’s Center for Applied Conflict Management and for his work in the field of peace and conflict studies.
Susan Emens, Business Management Technology, presented "Self-congruity and the MOA Framework: An Integrated Approach to Understanding Volunteer Participation in Social Cause Communities" at the American Marketing Association's 2013 Summer Marketing Educators' Conference in Boston, Mass., on Aug. 9-11, 2013.
