- Kent State Assistant Professor Receives $523,859 NSF Grant Dr. Ruoming Jin, assistant professor of computer science at Kent State University, has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to develop data mining technologies. The five-year CAREER grant of $523,859 is for his project titled "Novel Data Mining Technologies for Complex Network Analysis."

Currently the athletic director at the University of South Dakota (USD), Nielsen succeeds Laing Kennedy, who is retiring on June 30. Nielsen will begin at Kent State on May 15. Details of his contract are pending.

Ross will teach research methodology to graduate students and doctoral candidates at five universities in Thailand from June to October 2010. While in Thailand, she also will conduct seminars for nursing faculty and conduct her own research project.
