The Cleveland Orchestra Members Perform in the Third Kent/Blossom Music Festival Faculty Series Concert
The concert, titled "Romance and Rhapsodies," will feature the talents of The Cleveland Orchestra's first associate concertmaster Peter Otto, first assistant principal cellist Richard Weiss, keyboard principal Joela Jones, assistant principal viola Stanley Konopka along with Kent/Blossom Music's co-artistic coordinator and principal oboe of the Erie Philharmoic Danna Sundet. Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine is Now the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine
The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) has officially become the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, effective July 1. The college was established in 1916 and is one of the largest and most respected podiatric medical education institutions in the country and the only accredited podiatry school in Ohio.

Kent State’s Piano Institute Presents Its Seventh Annual Gala Concert and Series of Performances
The 2012 Piano Institute, in association with the Piano Division of the Hugh A. Kent State University’s Centennial Campaign Raises Record-Breaking $265 Million
With the launch of the Centennial Campaign, Kent State University took on an aggressive agenda to raise $250 million to fund the university’s endowment, capital projects and operating needs, with a particular emphasis on student scholarships. The university has officially closed the Centennial Campaign and reports it raised a record-breaking $265 million, surpassing its goal by $15 million.

Kent State Hosts Aviation Camp for Female High School Students and Their Mothers, July 19-21
Area female high school students and their mothers will be spending time together while also learning about aviation and science-related fields at a special overnight aviation camp held at Kent State University. The university’s aeronautics program hosts its fourth Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation Camp on Thursday, July 19, through Saturday, July 21.

Ohio Third Frontier Awards $3 Million to Kent State University
The Ohio Third Frontier Commission has approved a $3 million award to Kent State University. The award is part of the more than $21 million in grants recommended by the commission through the Ohio Third Frontier Open Innovation Incentive and the Ohio Third Frontier Innovation Platform Program to support innovation activities in the state.

Second Phase of Allerton Apartments Closure Begins
Kent State University is beginning the second phase of the planned closure of the Allerton Apartment complex, taking Buildings E, F, J and K offline and preparing them for demolition. The university announced the phased closure of Allerton Apartments in 2010 due to the buildings reaching the end of their life cycle. It is cost-prohibitive to maintain the buildings in the future.

Kent State Gets Green Light for Historic Campus Transformation

It refers to the time frame for a physical transformation of the university’s Kent Campus that will be historic in size, scope and significance. That time frame became official today (Sept. 12) when the university’s Board of Trustees authorized the university to move forward with four, major capital projects on the Kent Campus totaling nearly $150 million.
