Kent State’s Public Health Speaker Series Presents CWRU Researcher to Discuss Urban Health Issues

Kent State University’s College of Public Health presents the final speaker of its Public Health Speaker Series this semester. Dr. Elaine A. Borawski will speak Tuesday, April 26, at noon in Kent State’s Moulton Hall Ballroom. Her talk is titled “Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods: Engaging the Community in Search of Innovative, Effective and Sustainable Solutions to Urban Health Issues.” The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Borawski is an associate professor and co-director of the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Borawski is an epidemiologist with more than 15 years of experience in community-based health research with a wide focus from school and neighborhood level interventions to behavioral intervention program efficacy and effectiveness studies. She will be visiting Kent State to talk about the importance of involving the community in developing sustainable solutions to urban health issues.

A meet and greet with Dr. Borawski for students will occur at 11 a.m. prior to the talk.
