Posted May. 27, 2011

The Kent State University Police Department is hosting “Dine And Dance For Sara,” a benefit dinner dance for Kent State and Brimfield Township emergency services dispatcher Sara Anweiler.

Anweiler was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2009 and promptly started her treatments. During the early stages of her treatments, she was diagnosed clear from any cancer. As she finished her treatments, the cancer returned. After seven rounds of chemotherapy, three surgeries and 36 rounds of radiation, she was clear of cancer again in 2010. In February of 2011, Sara was diagnosed with cancer for the third time. She is currently undergoing treatment and awaiting further information from her doctors.

The benefit event will be held Saturday, June 11, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the NEOUCOM Banquet and Conference Center, 4209 State Route 44, Rootstown OH 44272. Tickets are $30 each, available pre-sale or at the door, and include hors d’oeuvres, pasta dinner buffet (pasta, salad, veggie, bread, dessert, coffee, water, hot and iced tea), cash bar, dancing, silent auction, Chinese raffle, and 50/50 raffle. A portion of the ticket sales, a portion of the bar sales, and all monies from the raffles and auctions will go to the Anweiler family.

Please contact any member of the Kent State Police Department at 330-672-3070 or kwills@kent.edu to purchase tickets and for any other details. Information is also available at www.donatetosara.com.
