Alumnus Keynotes Graduate Research Symposium, March 31
Posted Mar. 29, 2011The Kent State University Graduate Student Senate is proud to welcome Dr. Barry Franklin, past president of the American College of Sports Medicine and current member of the board of directors of the American Heart Association, as keynote speaker of the 26th Annual Graduate Research Symposium. All are welcome to attend this free, inspiring event which takes place Thursday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m. in the Kent Student Center’s Governance Chambers.
Dr. Franklin is a graduate of Kent State and currently serves as the director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Science Laboratories at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. In addition to his 21 books, he also has written or edited more than 500 publications related to the field of exercise physiology. Recognized nationally, Dr. Franklin has provided inspiring and challenging words at various University commencements as well as research institutes such as the Cleveland Clinic.
His dynamic presentation titled “Good Luck is Something YOU Create: 10 Behaviors Skills of Highly Successful People” will highlight the importance of education and the various other attributes required to succeed in an ever-changing world. Light refreshments will be provided, and the event is free and open to the public.
