Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance will be holding auditions for admission to the dance major and minor programs on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in dance studio D-123 of the university’s Music and Speech Building. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 10. Information and registration forms can be found at http://www.dance.kent.edu/Auditions_EntrancePorfolios/Dance_Auditions.html.

Kent State offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance or Dance Education as well as a dance minor. Dancers will participate in a master class including ballet, modern dance, improvisation and jazz dance. Prospective dance majors also will be interviewed by a panel of dance faculty members and asked to present a two-minute solo. Students who are talented in both dance and academics qualify to be considered for Creative Artists Awards offered through the university’s Honors College.

The final audition for spring will be held on Saturday, April 14, with registration due by Friday, March 30. For additional questions on the BFA dance major or dance minor programs, contact the dance office at 330-672-2069 or visit http://www.dance.kent.edu.
