ADVISORY: Kent State University Board of Trustees Meeting and Press Conference, Sept. 14

The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting Wednesday, Sept. 14. The Board will convene at 2:45 p.m. in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of the Kent Campus Library.

The day’s proceedings include a press conference at which Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Jim Petro will make a special announcement about Kent State’s renowned Fashion School. The press conference will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Rockwell Hall Atrium. Rockwell Hall, located at the corner of Main and Lincoln streets, is the home of the Kent State University Museum and the Fashion School.

Individual Board committees will meet in Rockwell Hall prior to the press conference as follows:

• External Relations and Development Committee – 9:15-10 a.m. in the Rhodes Conference Room.
• Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee – 10:15-11:15 a.m. in the Rockwell Hall Library.
• Audit Committee and Finance and Administration Committee – 10:15-11:15 a.m. in the Rhodes Conference Room.
• A joint meeting of the Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee will be held at 2 p.m. in the Urban Conference Room in the University Library.

Trustees are expected to retire into executive session at 8 a.m. in the Rhodes Conference Room in Rockwell Hall to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.”

Kent State Board Chair Jacqueline Woods will be available to answer media questions immediately after the business meeting.
