Two new sculptures moved to Kent State University from the Ohio Arts Council in downtown Columbus.

The first piece, The Legend of the Iron Hoop, was created in 1980 by Kent State School of Art Professor Emeritus Brinsley Tyrrell. His creation is located behind Henderson Hall. Tyrell is also known for his existing piece on campus, Behind the Brain, located near Merrill Hall.

The second work, an untitled piece from the 1970s, was created by James Clover, former assistant professor at The Ohio State University. The sculpture is located near Bowman Hall. Clover also has featured artwork exhibited in the Jackson Mississippi Airport, the High Museum of Art in Georgia and other galleries and universities around the country.

Clover’s piece is expected to become a part of the Kent State University Sculpture Walk, where the public learns more about the sculptures and their artists by visiting the exhibits at the Kent State University Esplanade.

Other pieces included in the University Sculpture Walk are The Guardians, by Giancarlo Calicchia; Eye to Eye, by Barry Gunderson; StarSphere 2010, by Susan Ewing; and Limits of Spoken Language: Congeries, by Jarrett Hawkins.
