Posted June 13, 2011Kent State University at Ashtabula and Dr. Susan Stocker, dean and chief administrative officer of the KSUA campus, were jointly awarded the 2011 Cornerstone Community Impact Award by the Ashtabula County Medical Center (ACMC) Healthcare System. This award is one of the ACMC Healthcare System Community Impact Awards presented at a banquet held May 9 at the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Now in its second year, the ACMC Healthcare System Community Impact Awards honor those groups and organizations that contribute far above day-to-day requirements or expectations to raise the quality of life throughout the communities in Ashtabula County.
Kent State at Ashtabula and its Dean Stocker received the Cornerstone Award, which goes to a person, group, organization or company that best demonstrates the four cornerstones of ACMC and the Cleveland Clinic: quality, innovation, teamwork and service.
Nominees are chosen based upon community contributions and major accomplishments or volunteer activities, and recognized in the following categories: the Cornerstone Award, the Living Legacy Award, the Breaking the Barrier Award, the Citizen of the Year Award, the Youth Citizen of the Year Award and the Spirit of ACMC Award.
Stocker was nominated as an individual and the Ashtabula Campus was nominated as an organization. However, the Cornerstone Award was given to both because of the success, service and accomplishments of the campus under Dean Stocker's leadership, in addition to her personal achievements.
