In preparation for Earth Day, the campus community is invited to learn more about environmental issues now. Every Monday and Thursday through the week of April 11, stop by the "Go Green" table (look for the green balloons) located in the Lower Commons of the Classroom/Administration Building to learn how you can save money, "Go Green" and enter a drawing to win prizes.

Among the student-focused activities is a poster contest, featuring cash prizes for the top three entries and gifts for all participants. Posters should
effectively illustrate processes, information, benefits, etc. of reducing, reusing, and recycling. The poster can also create awareness and educate viewers on recycling, reusing items and how to save money through green practices. Entries may also discuss the carbon footprint and offer steps individuals can take to reduce theirs. Deadline for submissions is April 15. Contest rules and regulations are available by clicking here.

An event/service/project contest is also planned, again with cash prizes for the top three entries and gifts for all participants. Participants are asked to implement a project, service or event linked to reducing, reusing or recycling and saving money through green practices. Participants must present their idea, service, project or event on April 21 between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Lower Commons of the Classroom/Administration Building. In order to enter the contest, you must submit a one-paragraph proposal outlining the project/service/event you will be implementing - including all participants - by April 7 at 5 p.m. All proposals should be sent to Jacob Roope at
jroope@kent.edu.Deadline for submissions is April 15. Contest rules and regulations are available by clicking here. A presentation template is available by clicking here.

All contest participants must be Kent State Trumbull students. Participants may enter all Earth Day Campaign contests.
