Quaker Steak and Lube Coming to Kent State University This Fall

Posted Sept. 3, 2012

Quaker Steak and Lube is coming to Kent State University this fall.

Quaker Steak and Lube has partnered with University Dining Services to open at Kent State University this fall. The new partnership is much anticipated by the university community and will be located in the lower level of the Kent Student Center replacing Damon’s Grill. A regional favorite, The Lube is the winner of "Best Wings USA" and features many award winning sauces including the Atomic and Triple Atomic hot sauces. Students, staff and community members can look forward to delicious wings, burgers, steaks, great appetizers and more.

Kent State University and Quaker Steak and Lube both have high hopes that bringing this restaurant to the university will be a success. University Dining Services anticipates an opening mid-October after renovations are complete.

“After looking at several options, Quaker Steak and Lube had the best overall appeal as far as menu and concept for our demographic,” says Richard Roldan, director for University Dining Services. “We conducted a variety of surveys and focus groups to research the pulse of the campus community before we made a decision. Quaker Steak and Lube was the clear favorite. The restaurant has a diverse menu that is ideal for the Rathskellar.”

Quaker Steak and Lube was founded 1974 as an automotive-themed restaurant and now has more than 45 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The restaurant has won numerous awards for its wings and sauces.
