Posted Aug. 3, 2015Main Street Kent will host the fifth annual International Festival in downtown Kent on Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 7 p.m. Admission to the festival is free. Event-goers can purchase a variety of ethnic cuisine and international beers at the event. A “passport excursion” also will be a part of the event, free to all who wish to explore downtown businesses and experience their special international offerings (food samples, art displays and more).
Vendors and informational/cultural display booths will be situated on North Water Street, alongside the Hometown Bank Plaza. North Water Street will be closed from Main Street to Columbus Street for the event. Live music and dance will be featured at the Hometown Bank Plaza. This event is being generously sponsored by PARTA, Kent State University and Hometown Bank.
Celebrate the diversity of Kent – be a part of the event and show off your culture! If you would like to participate in the international festival by having a booth or performing at the event, please submit your application by Aug. 10 (Aug. 3 for food vendors). Applications are available now on the Main Street Kent website at www.mainstreetkent.org/intl-festival or by calling 330-677-8000. All booths must be internationally themed, and the event-planning committee reserves the right to decline applications that do not fit the event theme.
Main Street Kent is a nonprofit organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Kent. It is an affiliate of the national Main Street program and the Heritage Ohio program.
