Lights! Camera! Action! In a manner of minutes on a mildly warm summer afternoon, the peaceful courtyard of Kent State University’s Stopher-Johnson complex transformed from a quiet sitting area to a bustling movie set.
This is a student perspective of a Super Service Saturday experience. Carrie Drummond is a senior public relations major at Kent State University and a member of Kent Student Ambassadors. A group of ambassadors volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland, which is one of many volunteer options available to students during the school year. The Office of Community Service, Learning & Volunteerism at Kent State sponsors Super Service Saturdays.
As part of Kent State University’s Centennial Celebration, Kent State University Intercollegiate Athletics celebrated the rich history of its women’s sports and shared in the public recognition of pre-Title IX Golden Flash women’s athletes as letter winners during the 2010 Homecoming weekend.
Kent State University’s new Roe Green Center for the School of Theatre and Dance, set to open Nov. 6, will unite the divisions of Theatre and Dance under a single roof. And, a sculpture currently being assembled especially for the center embodies the essence of that unity.
The Kent State University community came together for this year’s Homecoming. Attendees enjoyed the many weekend festivities leading up to the highly anticipated Homecoming football game against the University of Akron Zips. The Flashes won, 28-17.
In 1960, Dr. Phillip Macomber founded TeleProductions as part of Kent State University’s School of Speech. The main purpose of TeleProductions (then called Television Services) was to satisfy Kent State's growing need for new and innovative instructional technology.
Homecoming 2010 is here! Join the Kent State University community as the excitement builds leading up to this weekend's festivities. Among the many events this week, something is sure to interest each of us Golden Flashes and build school spirit leading up to the football face-off against the Akron Zips.
