Women's and Men’s Home Openers End
in Victory

Women and men basketball home openers end in victory.
The women’s basketball  team began the home portion of its 2011-12 schedule on Friday night with a win. Junior forward Diamon Beckford received a pass on the wing from freshman guard Itziar Llobet and knocked down a three pointer with five seconds remaining to lift the Kent State women's basketball team to a 65-64 non-conference victory over Morehead State. Meanwhile, the men’s basketball team was coming off a monumental season opening win on Tuesday at West Virginia. The Golden Flashes carried that momentum back to Kent State where the team rolled over Alcorn State, 77-58. Watch for the full story on the Kent State Athletics website.
