A Homecoming Celebration
The Kent State University community came together for this year’s Homecoming. Attendees enjoyed the many weekend festivities leading up to the highly anticipated Homecoming football game against the University of Akron Zips. The Flashes won, 28-17.
Kent State students, alumni, faculty, staff, families and community members enjoyed the parade, alumni events and receptions hosted by the university’s various colleges and schools, the Bowman Cup 5K Race and FlashZone, the free indoor tailgating experience that takes place prior to home games in the Field House. This year’s homecoming also marked the return appearance of the popular Centennial Black Squirrels.
Homecoming 2010 served as the culmination of the Centennial celebration. After the parade and before the football game, a dedication ceremony took place to officially mark the spot in Risman Plaza where the Centennial Time Capsule is buried.
