Kent State Beats #15 Ranked Rutgers

Kent State beats Rutgers, 35-23, and advances to a six-game winning streak on Saturday, Oct. 27, at High Point Stadium. This makes it the first time the Golden Flashes have beat a ranked team in 23 tries.

  • Kent State has scored 41 or more points, four times this season, a feat accomplished just one other time in program history (1954).
  • Since Oct. 29, 2011, Kent State has won 10 of its last 12 games overall.
  • Over their last three contests, the Flashes are averaging 261.2 rushing yards a game.

The All-time Series
Rutgers leads the all-time series with Kent State 2-0. In the most recent meeting, the Scarlet Knights topped the Golden Flashes 29-21 in 2004.  Josh Cribbs threw for 311 yards and helped trim a 16-point deficit down to five (26-21) with an 18-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown run.  Kent State is 14-30 against current BIG EAST teams with wins over Temple, Syracuse, Louisville and Connecticut.
