Ohio First Lady Visits Campus
First Lady Frances Strickland, wife of Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, visited Kent State University on June 17. During her time on campus, she met with a diverse group of Kent State students and young staff members at the Kent Student Center. She spoke with them to hear and discuss issues that are important to young people.
“It was a great opportunity for the students to meet the first lady of Ohio, and it gave us the chance to thank the administration for its continued commitment to higher education,” said Crystal Cook, Kent State’s senior legislative officer. “Our students really impressed the first lady and her staff with the thought-provoking questions they asked. The first lady enjoyed her visit so much that she invited the 20 or so students who were in attendance to come to the governor’s residence later this month for an appreciation event.”
